how long until it starts to work?

i went back on citalopram 4 1/2 weeks ago.... how long until i feel the difference? i'm beginning to get really anxious about them not working 2nd time round.

Hello woofybaby,

Try and take it easy. It may be early days yet.

They do take anything from 2 - 8weeks or more to get into your system. That's what my doc told me. This is only a guideline of course, as everybody is different. And second time around might be different from the first.

I think you have to try (not easy!) and not compare this time with the last. Just take each day on it's own merit and when it's over give yourself a pat on the back for getting through it - ready for the next day.

As with anything it always sounds a lot simpler than it is, but hope this is helpful to you.

My doc told me I had to give any medication a good 6 months to take full effect!
