Thread: Worried about lifting.

    Worried about lifting.

For months, I've had a tummy pulse, and general discomfort, combined with headaches, and occasional chest pain. This makes me feel that I have either an abdominal aortic aneurysm, thoracic aortic aneurysm, or even a brain aneurysm. Thing is, it's made me paranoid of lifting. I used to exercise a lot, but now I'm afraid if I do, I'm gonna rupture an aneurysm! What do I do?

If you are worried go see a specialist. I can tell you one thing, I used to Bench 500lb and squat 600lb. You won’t rupture anything. If you lift something up wrong you may get a hernia. Just get yourself checked out and put your mind to rest

Ok... we happen to have major arteries running down the area you mention. Depending on your body fat %, it would be totally normal to see a tummy pulse and frankly, if I relax and focus, I can feel my own and my bf% is far from lean

The other symptoms you mention are pure anxiety symptoms. There's also the fact you're posting here. If your symptoms were that severe and scary, you would have already been at the doctor or ER. I think, deep down, you know this is irrational, but anxiety + Dr. Google = Panic

I can tell you from personal experience, thoracic aortic aneurysms have no symptoms, none what so ever, not until they dissect or rupture, and when that happens, there is no question something severe has happened. The pain is worse than the worst heart attack, absolute agony, and it is relentless. Also, you would be long dead by now if you had ruptured your aorta. All that basically means it cannot be an aortic aneurysm.

I am not saying don't go get checked out if you are concerned, but I am telling you it is unlikely an aortic aneurysm.
