Im Haunted by my last medication

Hi everyone , this problem has been troubling me for quite a long time now and I really need to chat about it and get some thoughts please.

When I tried Citlopram some months ago, I was on day 4 and had a really weird experiance. My hubby took me out in the car and I panicked like I have never panicked before, then I could see lamposts bending over and felt totally wierd like paranoid and thought of running in front of a car to end it all cos I was terrified and I was screaming and crying in a ball.

This was the worst experiance of my life EVER!
i had taken a diazepam with my citlopram and the gp wasnt sure if it was the diazepam which did it or the citlopram or it was just me over reacting .
Ever since I have taken a step backwards, I keep thinking what if it happens again...Im terrified.
I keep worrying that it wasnt the pills and it was ME, please advise, its driving me mad.

Yew, sounds horrible - but I'm sure it will have been the medication.

When I first started Citalopram I had weird sensations which made the terror so bad I felt I wanted to literally 'jump out of my skin' to get away from it. And the panic attacks were constant and unrelenting - but I kept going and it paid off in the end

Are you still taking them or did you not take any more after the 4days?

I stopped them GG, I was like a mad woman on them crying and screaming .

Its put me off my diazepam, wont touch them again just incase it was them.

I now have some prozac to try am am worried.
Glad the citlopram paid off for you , Gives me hope xxx

Im sure it was the combination of medication - I have had horrific experiences with diazapam especailly on withdrawal - green elephants would be coming out of the ceiling to the extent where they made me self harm and I had some bad out of body experiences. I shudder now at the reminder.

Im still here though and I didnt lose my sanity or anything and although horrific - it did pass. I am very wary of meds now, although I do still take an anti dep and anti anxiety but only minimal doses. Stick to the Mindfullness Mirry, that has helped me immensely.

Since taking Seroxat i have been left with a fear of my pulse rate and depersonalization/derealization and unreality, very horrible. Just can not shake this dreaded symptom and i never had any of that until my gp put me on Seroxat. Of course since then i have learnt all about the 'dreaded drug' and wish that i had never taken it at all. But i know a lot of people who take it and it does them the world of good, all of us are different!xx

thats what concerns me , taking another med that will make you worse and scar you emotionally.
