    CBD oil and Escitalopram

I have been on Escitalopram for about 14 weeks now, at 15mg for 6 weeks. I am thinking of trying CBD oil alongside it. My psychiatrist has given me the go-ahead.
Has anyone tried CBD with an SSRI?
What dosage should I be looking at, and in which form should I take it? I don’t want to vape!

Going ahead tomorrow. 14mg a day.
Hoping to be able to taper off Zopiclone initially.
    I will post my findings!

Well I have been a bit daft.

I felt well yesterday. I took my 14mg of CBD, but we also went out with friends for lunch and I had wine. I’ve been pretty much tee-total for the last 6 months.

So last night I started to feel weird. My heart was over-apparent, and was beating slightly fast. I felt woozy and drugged. My Zopiclone didn’t work as it usually does, and I only had 5 hours’ sleep.

I know that escitalopram, Zopiclone and CBD are all metabolised by the same liver enzyme. Why on earth did I introduce alcohol and CBD into the mix at the same time?

Today, there will be no alcohol (week days are always alcohol free for me anyway) and I’m not going to take the CBD oil. Hopefully I’ll get back to where I was, and I can re-introduce the CBD when I feel comfortable. I never worried about drinking alcohol with paroxetine or trimipramine. I’m not sure it’s a good mix with escitalopram.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Did you take the zopliclone and cbd at the same time? You should take them 1-2 hours apart (cbd first)

    Hello,
No, I had a gap of 4-5 hours.

I gave the CBD oil another go, and have decided it’s not for me.

I feel weird enough on Escitalopram. The CBD just makes me feel weirder, and there don’t seem to be any positive effects.

    Ho hum.

I've bought some low strength stuff to try. Just took my first few drops to give it a go.

Come November I'll be on Escitilopram for 2 years (10mg) but I want to find a way to cut this down or stop completely.

It's the CBD oil in the UK, 275mg dose. Not expecting much but I will let you know.

I'll check the bottle but pretty sure.

After only a few days I feel great. Sleep improving slightly but during the day I feel more focused, engaged at work and with people in general, more articulated with my speech like I'm not rushing or trying to get a conversation over with ASAP as to avoid people.

Even my general mood had been lifted.

Placebo effect or real? Not sure but haven't felt this good in a while.

That’s fantastic news, Colin. Long may it continue.

I was taking two drops twice a day. Each drop was 3.5mg of cbd. It varies depending on the concentration of the oil. I started low, but your dose seems astronomical!
