I'm going on holiday on Tuesday.
I'm already feeling nervous and a little depressed because I know this worry might ruin the holiday and I'm sort of nervous about leaving my comfort zone for a whole week especially when I might see blood
I'll try my best not to check the stool but has anyone got any tips for not checking? "Flush and go" is the most obvious but that's easier said than done especially with OCD when your mind forces you to "just take a little peek" at the stool which then turns in to "IS THAT BLOOD? DID I JUST SEE BLOOD? IS THAT SMALL SHADE UNDERNEATH IT RED?", then creating false memories that there was blood and ruining the entire day
I'm also having my first phone appointment/therapy session tomorrow at 2pm- maybe they can give me some last minute help before the holiday
You are just going to have to stop looking that is all there is to it.
If you had started some self-help months ago you could have been well on your way to getting better but you chose not to so you are going to have to do this the hard way and just stop looking.
Why let it ruin a holiday when there is nothing wrong with you?

I’ll try
I spoke to the counsellor today, one of the things she told me was to treat the thoughts like a “poisonous parrot” that flies in to create negative thoughts and worries. To stop the parrot, you have to ignore it and cover the cage up.
Has anyone got anymore last minute advice on not checking because I think if I see blood it’ll ruin the holiday
Be strong and brave and don’t look. Enjoy your holiday, shut that cage!
Turn off the light, poop, wipe and flush in the dark

Wear a blindfold for bathroom visits?
Don't go to the poo the whole time you are away? (that is NOT a serious suggestion lol)
Drat it, Carys, you beat me to it!
