Re: Have I got rectal cancer?

No a clear colonoscopy would 100% put this worry to bed for good

I think I would definitely have doubts if I just had a sigmoidoscopy because I’d be like “What if it was further up?” so I’ll ask the specialist for a colonoscopy and I think I deserve one.. I’ve been seeing blood in intervals and mucus since July with no evidence of hemherroids and I’ve had sensations of incomplete evacuation and strange blood test results

This is just absolute torture, as anyone else who also has HA would know because I am just so 100% convinced. If it turns out I don’t have CRC I’ll make a separate post telling others with similar symptoms not to worry because it doesn’t always have to be cancer, even with persistent and unexplainable symptoms like mine

That all sounds too good to be true weirdly enough

I already told you over 90 pages ago that you would not be happy with a sigmoidoscopy and needed a colonoscopy!

You have had piles, they bleed, they come and go.

You do not have cancer though. At most you could have some sort of IBD.

Are you going to carry on posting every day until you get the procedure saying you have cancer and convincing yourself of it or are you going to live a life?

I have recently been worrying about my mum a lot more because she said she saw blood when she went to the toilet the other week to try and reassure me and make me feel like I’m not alone or whatever.. I’m scared that if she has it then maybe I have it too genetically. My mind is literally a very s****y depressing place to be right now

Well yeah I probably thought a sigmoidoscopy would be enough back then because that was before I started experiencing a load of other symptoms. I think I started thinking it recently though because I experienced first hand how reassurance can only last for a few hours and a colonoscopy wouldn’t leave room for doubts because my whole bowel would’ve been checked

I haven’t had piles before, at least not any that were discovered

And my life is on hold until the test because it feels too depressing enjoying myself knowing I may not have long left

Toby, I'm sorry to be brutal, but are you aware of how hard it is to get yourself back to something resembling normality after a prolonged spell having dropped out? You're at such an important age, you need to be cultivating the skills to take you forward.

I know you're thinking you're dying, but I think the more pertinent question here is what if you live?

That is just ridiculous to be honest.

You did have a pile before as you posted about it and even put a picture up:

"I went to toilet and basically the hemmheroid popped out and it was as sore as hell and it felt like something was trying to bulge out."

Ah, ok so the GP didn't actually arrange any testing but has referred you to a specialist? You do realise this specialist may say you have no symptoms of cancer and they don't want to perform either of the tests you have been chasing?

No evidence of roids? By who? You can't determine if they are there or not if they are internal.

Incomplete evacuation is a symptom of many things including piles, anxiety and on it goes.

Strange blood tests...that are now correcting themselves hence are no longer relevant. And you had a long term parasitic condition which is one of the quoted root causes for these raised levels. Did you tell the doctor about these? If you didn't, you are influencing your treatment and you need to tell the specialist or you are hindering their work.

How about some evidence against cancer? Just how ill are you right now? Lets remember it's an untreated cancer that's been going on for how long?

Re: Have I got rectal cancer?

If I find out I’m going to live I’ll start thinking about what to do next but I’m really, really convinced this is gonna be something nasty, especially seeing the stories of others around my age- if they can get it, why can’t I?

Oh right NMP, that, nope I don’t think that was a pile, (this is gross) I was pushing a lot and I think the inside of my rectum popped out a bit, like to a normal extent. It was the wall that was next to my.. exit, that stuck out and it was site because I kept prodding and wiping it

The doctor felt inside about a week later too and couldn’t feel hemherroids

The GP said they would scope me to reassure me since that’s the reason I’m going and the reason I was referred

I mean when the doctor felt inside she couldn’t find a hemherroid so I don’t have any evidence of them

Yeah I’m not AS worried about the blood tests but it seems strange that both times I had one, two different things flagged up. But I’m not concerned like you say, the ALP is now in the normal range

Cancer can be pretty sneaky.. most people aren’t ill until the later stages. I just feel like everything is getting worse day by day
