Re: Can you feel/see your pulse in the suprasternal notch?

Just came back from my psychiatrist because i needed some meds. Asked her about neck and notch pulsations and she told me it happens all the time and people even say thatbthey feel like its harder to swallow food and it seems to get stuck in their neck. She prescribed me some meds for that. Just informing you dornish. It maybe aint what you think it is.

If this neck pulse were any sort of reliable indicator of an aortic aneurysm, don't you think they'd use it as a cost-effective mass-screening tool? No more expensive, time-consuming MRIs required for diagnosis. Just a few fingers on a neck, and voila!

Well it is not a diagnostic criteria, but it is an indication.

Thank you all for your input and for trying to help me. I will be getting an echo on monday.
This is honestly the worst weekend I ever had in my life.
Prospects of having an aneurysm and a diagnosis of a connective tissue disorder is so very frightening, this is the hardest thing I ever went through in my life.
My parents are terrified as well. It is a very hard time for all of us. Trying to stay positive but it is very hard.

Do any of you have a feeling of food/liquid getting stuck in your chest? Not in throat, but chest?
When I take a sip of a drink, I feel it getting stuck in my esophagus. Like in my chest. Like it has trouble getting down there. Do any of you experience that?

    Food/liquid stuck in esophagus

Do you ever get a feeling that food/liquid gets stuck in your esophagus? Not troath, but further down there, like in your chest?
When I take bigger a sip of liquid I feel like it gets stuck somewhere along the way, in my chest, and then proceeds down to my stomach
Do any of you have this?

It’s very common with an anxiety.

    Is it really?
I read mostly about food getting stuck in throat.
I currently am being checked if I have an aortic aneurysm, (on monday) and I read that this could be a symptom. So I am looking for reassurance if anyone else get this feeling as well

Could it be related to fizzy drinks? I am currently having a beer and feel this with every sip.
I also have acid reflux and weird esophagus problems (cant burp, so lots of gas gets stuck there, esophagus twitching etc)

Perhaps carbonated beverages aren't something to drink when having those symptoms?

    Positive thoughts
