Vitamins and Anti Depressants

Is it OK to take vitamins whilst on citalopram? I want to start taking Folic Acid vitamins - anyone any experience of this?

I've always taken loads of vitamins whilst on antids. Hasn't done me any harm I think.

Hey.

I've not taken Folic Acid but have taken lots of vits whilst on Citalopram. Read the leaflet in your Antidepressant box just to make sure, but I am sure it's fine. We get folic acid from food, so I can't see it being a problem

That would be great, except I always throw away the leaflet - otherwise I read it over and over and obsess over having all the side effects!!

Well if it was me I'd just take the vitamins, but if you are concerned, check with a doctor or pharmacist first

Pharmacists are a great source of information if it's hard to get an appointment with the doc.
