    Fever with cold??

I have not been on here in months. Months!! Woot woot! I felt so great all summer with much less stress. I now have things causing me a lot of stress in my life (not health related), and I've noticed many HA issues have popped up concurrently with the stress. I have feared cold sores, UTI, kidney infection, broken back, uterine cancer, etc. There were valid symptoms for all of them (and some still being assessed), but the pattern has not escaped me.

So - my child has had a bad cold for a week. Yesterday my spouse and I both started coming down with symptoms (killer sore throat, major nasal congestion, cough). We have all the same symptoms but I'm now the only one with a fever (100-101F). Is it normal to get a fever with a cold?

Update: fever got up to 102.5

Yes it is nornal and some people get fever while others don't. Anything below 103 is considered low grade fever and its normal with a cold. Well fever above 103 is concerning, everything below that is normal.
And some peopke are more senaitive to fevers. I always get 100 fever when I have a cold and my mother never has a fever not even slightly. That's how bodies are.
You have nothing to worry about!

    Very, very, very, very normal.

More normal than not getting one.

Like we've all said, it's completely normal. Take paracetamol, drink lots of water and rest. There's absolutely nothing else you can do about it and it's not dangerous.

To answer your question with another question - if you go swimming, is it normal to get wet?

Thanks all. Fever hit 102.5 so I took ibuprofen and it’s lower now. I spoke to nurse who said there is a nasty virus going around or it could be flu even though it’s only Sept. I have to say that flu is my #1 HA fear so that’s not what I wanted to hear. Still I kind of doubt it though since I don’t feel hit by a truck and my spouse has the same symptoms without fever - and my child also had the same symptoms last week without the fever.
