Well to me it all makes senes now. The swollen lymph node in groin area could be related to colon cancer... Now the fatigue and diarrhea problems are definitely related to colon cancer. Colon cancer runs in my family. My last colonoscopy was a full 5 years ago.

I was able to get an appointment with gastro doctor in 2 weeks.

But are you going to believe them when they say it is anxiety?

No. He didn’t believe them when they didn’t want to biopsy this supposed lymph node.

Darkside...which cancer is it now? lymphoma or colon cancer ?

    Also, the fatigue continues.

Honestly, I believe colon cancer explains *A LOT* of what I've been experiencing. The fatigue (even when I sleep well) combined with the upset stomach and are literally the clearest indication of colon cancer I have ever seen. It's so, so sad. I will be calling my gastro doctor's office today to setup a colonoscopy. I am due for one in August as my last colonoscopy was 5 years ago this August.
I TOLD you not to forget the colon cancer aspect....

You are right..It is so, so sad. Quite the saddest thing I have heard all year. But at least you have had the sense and courage to schedule a colonoscopy.

I hope it is not too late though....

I understand that replying to this thread probably isn’t going to help, but I feel I should just in case. Maybe it won’t help the original poster, but it could help someone else.

I found this thread in the middle of my own lymph node scare. I was also convinced I had lymphoma based on the whole right side of my neck swelling. But I’ve been to my doctor today and he looked me straight in the eyes and said, “You do not have lymphoma, but you do have health anxiety.” (And allergies!)

Now begins the difficult struggle of believing him! I absolutely understand how impossible it can feel, trying to believe a doctor when you’ve been anxious for a long time about something. But what matters is trusting that, unless you’re a doctor or specialist yourself, there’s absolutely no way you’re as skilled as a professional at recognizing concerning symptoms.

And no doctor would want to risk their job and credibility by shrugging off a patient who could have a serious illness. (That’s what I keep telling myself over and over!)

As a friend told me: “Continuing to come up with new illnesses to focus on isn’t going to help. It’s only going to make you miss out on the life you’re so scared of losing in the first place.”

Also, one more thing: of course you have an upset stomach! You’re constantly in a state of panic! I suffer from severe IBS that is always, always exacerbated during a time of panic. Get that anxiety under control and I would imagine your stomach would feel better shortly after.

Great post ! You are quite right it won't be read or make any difference to Darkside (having read years of his threads) but I am sure it will help someone else, so your time and effort is worthwhile.

What your friend said to you is a fabulous statement, and so true. I'm going to repeat it in a quote below. Darkside isn't living at the moment nor has he been for many years, he is mentally scrabbling against a wall with his fingernails running down it as he slides. He is scared of not being alive, yet spends all his time simply being scared and chasing medical diagnoses. He isn't living, which is the very thing he is scared of losing.

“Continuing to come up with new illnesses to focus on isn’t going to help. It’s only going to make you miss out on the life you’re so scared of losing in the first place.”
I am starting to believe that Darkside being here all the time, repetitively posting is a good thing - as he does serves as a warning to others, and pushes others like yourself into affirming important facts about their own illness and resolution into dealing with it. I wish you good fortune in your personal fight, but I see you have insight and motivation. which will serve you well.

This post is reassuring to me. I'm thankful that I got help. I used to be like this.. circling in the chaos that is Health Anxiety. Desperate to be heard but terrified I was dying.

I really hope you read this and get sime help. Medication and psychology does help. I resisted for 17 years and I can't believe I did. I have the occasional worry but, I believe I am 95% better.

    I Can see
