Besides, cancer must be much harder to deal with if you're having to manage severe anxiety as well.
I can't imagine why your testicles were sore after prodding them to test their "hardness"... it's not like they're sensitive or anything... oh wait...

They were sore before I prodded them. The both feel softer now generally, but a part of the left still feels hard.
Why did you prod them if they were sore?

It's been a while. During my self-examination I found this new small, somewhat movable lump. It was reay hard to find, and when I did it didn't really feel like it was on the testicle, more in the scrotum, because in its normal position I can't find it on the testicle. Cancerous lumps are hard aren't they, and I'm sure I remember reading on the testicle they have the texture of a stone. I think I know it's fine deep down but I am doubting myself a bit.
Just spent ages looking for it again, can't find it. Had a feel of the other one two, feels different.
so it has gone then - good news

I can feel a small lump on the back of my left testicle. Can cancer grow on the back? I'm not sure. I have to turn my testicle over to feel it, it is quite hard to find. I feel like I'm starting to fall down a rabbit hole I haven't been down for a long time.
