I had standard blood tests ordered by my gp at the same time she referred me for an ultrasound. The tests to check ovary function show abnormal- I think she was checking these to see if I was in perimenopause. Everything else is normal.

Scass, fast track appointments don't mean cancer. I've had 3 this year. It's far better to be seen quickly by the relevant specialist rather than hang around with the appointment months away. You'll be able to ask all the questions you want tomorrow and get some answers xx

Hi Scass, just found your post! I don't know if this helps at all, but when I had my scan last August, it was months before I heard back, and then as you know I didn't get another appointment until this November only to be told is was PCOS. I've had bloods as well, which were all normal, except my Thyroid, but of course, I have Hypothyroid so that's why.

My mum is 53, when she had her smear test a couple years ago, she got an abnormal result back, and had to have a scrapping I think its something about getting the cells out anyway, she had the whole procedure, and had to wait 2 months before she heard back, ruined my mums entire summer, and mine with worry over her, turns out everything was fine, the cells were not pre cancerous and wouldn't turn into it.

Sometimes longer waiting times are worse, because as you know me well, it just makes you feel worse. If you've got a really good doctor, they'll get it sorted for you quicker, especially if they know you have anxiety, they'll accommodate because of that. Mine do that sometimes, just to stop me getting worse with anxiety and stress it'll cause me.

(Probably for their sanity too with me lol)

From what I know of my PCOS, you have cysts on your ovaries as well, which a reason I panicked a lot, with irregular periods, I'm having mine again after they were gone a week after my last one. I think it was last year or the year before that, I had a period that lasted 5 months (yep, I didn't stop bleeding for 5 months), I really thought it was something terrible.

What I'm trying to say in a really REALLY long way about it, is more often than not, cysts are usually benign, my mum had them too, not cancerous, just there, being annoying, not painful but can cause irregular periods. My mum even had a cyst on her breast, and that sent her into full blown panic attacks of the worst scenario. It was just another benign cyst, then she had one on her neck, turns out it was a large/hard fatty deposit.

I think everything will be okay Scass, but if you need someone to talk to I'm always here for you like you have for me x

    Re: Cyst on ovary

Good luck with the appointment tomorrow, hope they can give you some answers, waiting is the absolutely worst !!

summer 2016 I had a polyp removed from my colon, 25 years old, even the doctors where stunned because even though its very common in older people, its very very rare in young. I had to wait a week before result came back if it was cancerous or not. I lost weight, did not sleep and it ruined my hole summer and two semesters of university because I felt like i had a near dead experience ( very dramatic lol ) It was not cancer but it had the potential to become cancer if i stayed in too long, I guess in some countries its called pre-cancerous ?? we don't use that term in Denmark lol.

I think a lot of people, especially people with HA, know what you are going trough, because we been through something simmilar
