    Colon cancer fear

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to post as I'm really stressing out I have colon cancer. I'm a 33 year old female and I have had bowel symptoms since June such as more frequent bowel movements, blood on the tissue and sometimes diarrhoea. I have a colonoscopy booked for Thursday and I am so incredibly scared of the procedure and the results. Has anyone had similar symptoms?

    Thank you.

You poor thing. Colon cancer is so, so unlikely at your age, but I understand how worried you must be. I’ve had a colonoscopy and the prep is the worst bit. The procedure itself is pretty straightforward and the best bit is there is no waiting for result! Good luck and let us know how you get on

I’ve been there. My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer and if that wasn’t a nightmare enough, I freaked out thinking I possibly had it too bc of some symptoms I thought were hemmroids. During the wait to get my colonoscopy, I developed weird bowel movements (most likely self induced because of the anxiety and stress I was under). The prep kinda sucks but it’s dowble and the procedure is a complete breeze. I woke up to them saying everything was totally clear and to come back in 5 years. That will likely be what happens to you on Thursday.
