    Slow Heart Rate

    Hey Everyone,

New here. Browsing the forums and I see a lot of worries about fast heartbeats but not sure if anyone has ever experienced a lower resting heart rate than the normal 60 - 100 bmp? I recently purchased a fitbit and routinely have a resting heart rate in the mid-50's. I'm by no means an athlete. It worries me a bit. I am on Celexa and Klonopin so I'm wondering if those are affecting the heart rate. I have had it checked out by my doc. I've actually had three EKG's within the past month because there was some pain - not necessarily associated with the low heart rate and my doc thinks it's more of a gastro-intestinal issue/pulled muscle.

Anyway - anyone ever experience a lower heart rate consistently? Anything to be worried about?

I have had 52-56 for years. I am fit, but not an athlete. I wouldn't worry about it. If it is below 40 it might be an issue.

Plus, Fitbit are notoriously bad at heart rate measurement.

    Re: Slow Heart Rate

A resting heart rate in the mid 50s isn't low. The 60-100 range has been largely debunked.

And also, don't use a fitbit to check your heart rate. They're not accurate, and even if they were you'd drive yourself insane.
