Update and Need advice.

I do understand. My feet keep twitching and it’s like a little stab of fear every time I feel it. But you don’t have slurred speech (I know from your video) and you would have if tongue fasiculations were caused by ALS. You have BFS. And my bet is, as soon as you accept that it will go!

Twitches/fasiculations require a neurologist to look at them because people on the internet, you included, can't diagnose ALS from them. As I said above, though, ALS is WEAKNESS.

Also, tongue fasiculations aren't the tongue jerking around. They look like worms crawling under the tongue, which you wouldn't be able to feel. Only a neurologist can make a diagnosis of this.

No, it's not weakness, it's the inability to do something. The muscles just don't work no matter how hard you try.

On the original thread (which was deleted by the OP),I referred the OP to THIS THREAD and I can confidently say ALS or MND is not on the table here. I'd bet salary on it. Severe anxiety on the other hand?

I've been off here for awhile and been through hell with this twitching. Does anyone experience frequent tongue twitching? My calves and full body twitching doesnt bother me as much anymore but this tongue twitching has me going into full blown panic attacks every few mins. And these what if scenarios are really fxcking with me mentally.

So today i had my 2nd EMG and am now being sent to a ALS Specialist. I had a dirty EMG and have prob A as a dx now. I am terrfied and scared as ****. i need some sorte of advice, please anything.

For what it’s worth, I have also been suffering twitching for over 2 months now and have also been suffering anxiety because of this. I have read that a dirty EMG can indicate many things besides ALS and sometimes are hesitant to recommend that one is done because for people with HA, any “dirty” result can cause unnecessary panic. Some doctors even refuse to accept twitching as an initial symptom of ALS. From what I’ve read, ALS hits you like a truck and you probably wouldn’t be questioning that something is seriously wrong if you had ALS. You’re probably being sent to an ALS specialist by your doctor to cover their a**. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

at the moment i am doing well. i have seen a ALS specialist and he did a clinical exam and told me he will not repeat a 3rd EMG and he will not try to find what the other Neruologist "Found". I will be seeing the A specialist again this Tuesday ( In 2 days ) And we will go from there. I am still twitching in both claves and arches of feet 24/7. i still twitch in Knees, thighs, arms, hands, face, and sometimes tongue. My clinical exam was fine and he told me to him it is not MND and that he is saying BFS. I have been really turning toward Jesus and learning all i can about The word of god and prayer. And i will say Glory be to God. Jesus has really been turning myself and my family around for the better and this has been a eye opener for me to be the father i need to be to my children and the husband i need to be for my wife. I have learned to be humble and yes i twitch all over but it reminds me of what it could have been. I am still going through a storm and still don't have a dx yet. But i believe that God has this and that I am going to be ok. Please still keep me in your prayers and i thank you all for prayers. Happy Fathers day! And god bless you all.
