Is constantly falling asleep during a fever normal?

I am really ill rn, fever, phlegm, painful cough, everything hurts, can't keep down water.

But I keep falling asleep, I am all dizzy and a bit disoriented but I am putting so much effort into sittinh up and not falling asleep. Is this even normal? I feel extremely tired.

If you're ill and you're tired, you should probably be resting so that your body can fight whatever it is you have.

When your body is fighting something like a virus or infection (which is what it sounds like based off your description), it's normal to be very tired and fall asleep. You need the energy to fight whatever it is. The last time I had flu, I could only sit up for a few minutes before I'd have to lie down again. It's exhausting sometimes.

I hope you feel better soon! Sounds like you're having a rough time.

Be kind to yourself, and accept that you need to take it easy for a bit. Sorry you're having such a rough time.

    Very normal

The last bad one I had I slept nearly 72 hours with only the odd break to pee and throw up. I literally had no idea what time or day it was when my eyes opened for brief periods.

Rest and let your body fight this bug, it's really quite the miracle how our immune system can battle for us to return us to good health.

Sorry your sick, it just went through our house too, knocked us all for a loop.

Thanks for calming down guys. I have been in the same spot in bed since last night, sleep just keeps forcing itself on me, but I wake up absolutely soaked and with a headache. I have no energy, not even enough to go down the stairs. Hope I feel better tomorrow :(

Oh and no appetite also :(

No appetite is fine, your body repairs itself best in the absence of food. Your body does this deliberately.
