Cholesteatoma?

Hi, I had one and I had to have an operation but I had no symptoms at all. My ear felt blocked after going swimming and I went to doctors and they looked and sent me for scans and this is what I had. I had a couple of operations and it was gone. It's a very slow growing thing, I'm guessing if you had your ears checked at the start of the year it's not grown since then. Is there a reason you are so scared of it being this?

I've had tinnitus after an infection for about 8 months now. I had another case of a sorr ear a few months ago too but it wasn't deemed an infection. I also have water seemingly lodged in my ear quite often and it smells. Just worried.

You shouldn't even know what cholesteatoma is. Google is the enemy here.
