    Unhappy Cholesteatoma?

    Hi all,

I have had problems with a blocked ear (a feeling of pressure) and bad tinnitus for about 2 months now, it's gradually got worse and worse. When I first went to the doctor about it they looked in my ear and noticed the eardrum was inflamed and there was a big build up of skin.

I was given Otomize (an antibiotic spray) which didn't really work and was then given Amoxicillin which helped with the pressure/blockage (didn't get rid of it) but the tinnitus stayed and arguably got worse. A few week after the Antibiotic tablets the pressure seems to be coming back.

I've been referred to an ENT but will probably pay to have it expedited. I'm so scared this could be a Cholesteatoma. What are the chances?

I've had similar issues with my ears. The feeling of pressure. I can still hear okay, but it's irritating. I get sinus issues too, so thinking this could all be related. Us anxiety sufferers really get crazy symptoms, i hate it, but dunno what we can do. If you have been anxious or stressed at all, that could be the cause. I find it worse when I come in from walking around outside in the cold. I wonder if you experience similar. How are your sinuses?

Sinuses don't feel too bad. Have you ever had tinnitus with your issues? For me that's the worst part. I'm dreading this ringing will stay with me for life...
