Coming off Sertraline + adding CBD
Ok so a few days I got some dried CBD flower to smoke/vape. Due to potential issues with CBD deactivating the CYP450 enzyme that Sertraline uses I decided to stop my 50mg daily for 3 days to try the CBD. On day 3 I definitely felt withdrawal coming on but the CBD I smoked (20% Lemon Haze) definitely had a positive effect. What I noticed:
Headache - almost gone
Unease & dread - Gone
General anxiety - Gone
Mood - Calm, neutral
I felt good, on an even keel, like "normal" and content. No intoxication effects, completely sober. I'm not sure of the amount I smoked as I didn't weight it but I'll guestimate 0.3g.
Day 4. OMG. I felt terrible! Hungover, foggy, sick, tension type head and neck ache. I decided to take 25mg Sertraline rather than the 50mg. I thought it would be an idea to use this time now to taper. 25mg is not even a dose that's even given to kids but thought it's better to have a little than none.
Today, I still felt sick but that's passed, still got a headache and feel tired. I spoke to my GP about my little experiment and said due to limited research on combining SSRI drugs and CBD I should use small amounts as and when. Any shaky, sick feelings etc. I get after the CBD should then be stopped.
Has anyone decided to taper and use CBD? I'd like to know how you got on!
