Flashing stars in vision?!

I’m freaking out! Earlier today I coughed and next thing I know, I have these flashing lights ALL over my vision. It went away after about 5 seconds. I was just watching the news about a 30 year old who had a massive heart attack, and she saw flashing lights in her vision right before it happened. Now I’m terrified that I’m about to drop dead from a heart attack! Is this a heart symptom?! Please help!

It's nothing to worry about. It's quite common.

What happened to you is that mechanical shock stimulates the nerves in the eye (like getting punched).

What happened to that lady is that falling blood pressure made her see stars (like getting up too quick).

It's a different thing. I've caused it from sneezing, myself.

Today I’ve had tons of skipped beats, and what feels like something squeezing my heart. My anxiety is in overdrive! I get a little lightheaded too. This is such a vicious cycle. Can’t tell if it’s anxiety, or my heart. Or even both!
