    Escitalopram and numb face

I took my first dose of 5mg Escitalopram last night. I woke up at around 1 am and my face felt really numb. I was able to fall back asleep but didn'tsleep well. This morning my face still feels slightly tingly but not numb like the middle of the night. Is this normal?

"No" I haven't heard of this being a side effect, nor do I see how it could cause it.

Best to run this one past your doctor

    good luck

I actually feel like I saw some random youtube video of a woman talking about something similar with Lexapro. I can't remember if she was swollen or numb or both, but it definitely did something funny to her face. I'd ask your doctor if you haven't yet and it hasn't resolved.
