Hi all - I wondered if anyone had experience with this. I have a doctor's appointment next week anyway, but hoped for a bit of insight beforehand.
I had a baby nearly 5 years ago and nursed her for about 2.5 years (so it's been almost 2.5 years since I stopped breastfeeding completely). For the last few weeks my left nipples has been itchy on and off. Nothing severe or constant, but noticeable, so I've been itching it fairly often (it looks completely normal). Yesterday when I itched it also felt tender and for some reason this compelled me to squeeze it, which produced a very small amount of milk (bright white, milky texture). I know from friends this isn't completely out of the ordinary and intended to just wait and mention it at my regular appointment.
Then today, I thought I'd see if it happened with my right breast as well. When I squeezed that one first a clear liquid came out, followed buy kind of a chunky yellow substance (almost like curdled milk... so gross, sorry). It was a very small amount, but I could get a bit out for 3 or 4 squeezes. This made me a bit more concerned. I've never randomly squeezed my breasts before (since I stopped nursing) so I'm sure this is probably something that could have happened at any time, and I've never just had spontaneous discharge from my nipples. But, still, I found it slightly unsettling.
Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!
