I did spend a few minutes on the Horse and Hound website this morning to delve deeper into the mock hunts..

The post I was reading contained the likes of, attire, my chap, and eager steed, - which is a bit deep for me at this hour of the morning. (You can bet that this dude doesn't live on a council estate with a burnt-out sofa in the front garden. eh?)
Also, if you say 'mock hunt' really fast, you get a word which I think describes these cruel buggers quite well.
They would hunt human beings if they were allowed.

Maybe foxes will have a Planet of the Apes evolutionary step

The same goes for hunting in general. I understand internationally this might differ in opinion but in the U.K. there is no need for it.

Stop shooting all animals. And Scotland stop attracting foreign tourism just so they can pose next to a dead animal that required very little skill to shoot.

Shooting is fine, just shoot targets and clays. We don't see archery clubs moaning because they can't hunt as our ancestors did. But then that's a fair bit harder.

I used to do air-rifle shooting (paper/metal targets only) and it's a good sport actually. Couldn't do all the maths/distance shite, I used to shoot from instinct, and I wasn't bad at it at all.

I wouldn't mind trying it out. I've got a neighbour who does it in his back garden.

My GF used to do archery.

I've done comp shooting but the social aspect was too problematic for me. Also, performance anxiety. Shame really. Like sprinting, it was something that I was actually good at, but my brain couldn't cope with the social interaction etc.

I used to love wearing my combat trousers and paratrooper boots though. (I'm so girly lol)
