From my limited knowledge of Brit history which of course is part ours too, the Guy Fawkes guy was a Catholic who got set up to uncredit his religion.
That Halloween shit is dangerous. Imagine what might happen to a kid who knocks on the door of a drug den by mistake.
As for Christmas - downright misery and debt for millions. It weren't even the birthday of Jesus if you believe the Bible. Shepherd's would not of been sleeping outdoor in the middle of winter. What a crock of shit.

Spain is a backward country from what I see. Like most under 30 gotta get a job abroad. Not so long ago they was a military dictatorship. You know already being a history teacher. Yes, it's a stupid part of their law which allows a lesser charge. It needs urgent amendment of a very basic statement about consent from all I can tell and I can't understand how in 2019 they haven't seen enough cases over the years to have changed it.

It's more the idiots setting them off at 3am or for weeks that people are sick of here. I would have thought Aus has much bigger safety concerns with all the deadly wildlife...those Drop Bears!!!

The same here. I wonder if it's about events losing their significance over time? No one really cares about horrors in the past. In 200 years maybe we will commemorate our world war dead with presents? Not sure I even want to consider the implications of that on Holocaust remembrance.

You know as much as 95% of us about Fawkes then. Other than in a quick talk in a school history class you would likely only find it on a TV programme around this time of the year. When I was young it was just about fireworks, bonfires and penny for the guy. It's always referred to as fireworks night or bonfire night anyway.

Not being funny, but if she unconscious how did she know who raped her? Lucky there was witnesses. That shit goes on all the time here but don't get reported coz no folk got faith in the pigs. As yous know, much easier for teens to get drugs here than booze but when your in a gang you got connections with older members
The other gig is that if yous report to the police, they will come round your home and maybe find something else there you'd rather them not know about
