Lencoboy… It’s as to be expected.
‘
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has said winning the next election is more important than party unity.’

This can be read in the context of an earlier report on what US Democrat Bernie Sanders had to say on the matter:

The question troubling many Labour supporters’ minds is: what does Labour stand for? If it’s just about winning an election, then Mr Starmer might as well simply adopt Conservative policies, dress them up in centrist pseudo-socialist philosophy, and hope disaffected Conservative and Lib Dem voters see it as a new dawn (it's been done before). To left-wingers, Mr Starmer is on this tack at the expense of traditional Labour values.
Serious political pundits stress Britain always needs an effective government opposition to be fully functional, and they observe that we currently don’t have one – I agree with them.
