Hi Glittery, just an update went docs I need to repeat sample again in 4 weeks she said the PPIs I was taking might well have increased the level. She said not to worry about cancer as it can be in 1000,s and although 172 is high it is not alarmingly high... so the poo saga continues 🤦🏾*♀️

Yes, I have read stories of people who had BC detected through this test, and their results were as high as 6000.

It is either high due to your PPI or for some mild inflammation, which is treatable.

I’m due my feacel calproctin sample this week again.. the funny thing is all my symptoms have improved a lot, has anyone has border line feacel calproctin mines at 172 and when repeated it was normal? I’ve been told to stop the medication I was on and wait four weeks. I’m just intrigued to know if anyone else’s was lower or normal second time round thanks in advance

Hi just an update if anyone’s intrested and have been following this thread. The second lot of feacel calproctin results have come back and they’re normal. So as the doctor suggested the PPIS I was on showed a raised result and there is no inflamtion in the bowels to show IBD or something more sinister.
I am now going to put this whole health anxiety issue behind me and fight it. It’s has took over 7 months of my life and I’m not going to let it win anymore. I’m still booked in for a routine appointment with my gp to discuss results. However I am now not going to panic for every little pain I get and over analyse it.Thank you guys for all your support .
