Post Thinking of starting a blog.

    Hi all,
I hope you are all well.
So I have posted on here in the past and have like many on here been through the SSRI/TCA merry-go-round, plus things like Mirtazapine, Trazodone and Anti-psychotics. Been through CBT etc.
I have pretty severe anxiety and have since I can remember, I went through a pretty rough childhood which I suspect contributed.

In the past I have been a functioning alcoholic, addicted to drugs and benzos.
I’m a 34 year old guy, just your typical lad from northern England, and I’m into your typical guy stuff, football, cars boxing etc. I am thinking of starting a blog to show far I have come (believe me I have come a long way compared to how I was when I was 16, and regressed in some other areas) and how I have accepted that I have an anxiety disorder despite according to everyone I know being “a manly man” or a jock type as they say in the US, I feel that if I wasn’t so embarrassed and realised this kind of thing can affect anybody, then I would have had a much easier time and sought help a lot earlier.
After all, society doesn't view worrying and being scared as particularly ‘manly’ traits, I know I certainly didn't.

Also I have done so much research over the years that I think I could help people in my situation not have to do that, as although I do enjoy research not everyone does.
Also I am still battling against this illness, I still have addiction problems and trying to get my fitness back, whilst working full time, doing a degree part time and expecting my first child, so I feel it will give me some accountability.

Is this something people on here would be interested in reading? I will be setting it up on a different WordPress or something similar.
Anyway let me know your thoughts.

    Cheers

    Daz

The thing with blogs is they're hard work, particularly when you're not feeling mentally well.

I write one as though my younger cat is writing it but don't update it as often as I should, as a result people tend not to read it.

Thanks for the reply. If I do decide to go that way, I will be sure to link yours, if you dont mind that is?

Mine is going to be very bluntly written and is going to cover things like gym training, weight loss etc as well.

As a huge hypochondriac this kind of stuff is important to me.

i dont mind, mine's just a silly one about the life of my cat like she's writing it herself.

Re: Thinking of starting a blog.

I'm a web developer and Internet marketer. I've always thought about setting up a blog and to make a bit of pocket money. But, like others have said when you're not well you don't want to write. And when you feel good, you also don't want to write. Some people can manage it.. I need a monetary drive to write on blogs, and I feel bad for putting ads for anxiety related stuff on the page because I'd never advocate anybody clicking ads for anxiety products. I use this place as my "blog".
