    flexible sigmoidoscopy

hi Got my appointment through for next week. Had a colonoscopy 7 years ago and found it terribly painful. Hoping this will be less so? Any tips please, hoping again to avoid sedation as have bad ectopics and heart murmur. Do they give painkiller/ muscle relaxant like with the colonoscopy?
    thanks

This is much less painful as it doesn't go right up the bowel.

You can ask for a sedative but to be honest I would try it without.
