    9 weeks 1 day

Hi all, after coming of fluoxetine some years ago and being anxiety free, I have started back on them 9 weeks and 1 day ago. I’m on 20mg since day 1 and just don’t feel I’m getting any better. Do I stick it out to the 12 week mark, up to 40 or change? Thanks x

    Hiyer Lilisa,

I think its probably best that you discuss with your prescriber, which you might have already done. (sorry I don';t actually know this med, and haven't used it) I guess though ultimately it depends on if you feel you are ok (not too bad) a, and are functioning) and can make it a few more weeks 'waiting' to see if it kicks in ? I think, if it were me, and as you are not far off 12 weeks, I'd wait a bit longer knowing that sometimes it can take some time. Do you recall what effective dose you were on last time ?

Thanks for your reply! I went to my GP and we decided to change to venlafaxine. I'm on day 3 and feel great, wish I'd changed before but I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing!
