Re: Worried about Bowel/ Colon Cancer

    Hey

I've been through and am still going through a very similar situation that's been going on for about 9 months regarding seeing random areas of blood on my stool and once on the paper. I saw a specialist last week and he checked my rectum and lower end of my sigmoid colon and found nothing but said one of my hemorrhoid veins (we all have 3 anyway but it's when they swell that it causes a problem) looks swollen so that could be what's bleeding

I'm not a doctor but my understanding is that bowel cancer usually bleeds A LOT and is very consistent in its bleeding patterns. Blood tends to sort of "explode" in the toilet bowl along with diarrhoea, but even that could be a simple burst hemorrhoid

The fact that you haven't seen blood since improving your diet is very reassuring because it shows that a low fiber diet, in your case = blood.

That would make the cause a low fiber diet, so you could be irritating hemorrhoids or you could have a fissure.

Also you're from the USA? Over a four year period of time within the last 10 years I think, only 0.1% of new cases of bowel cancer were diagnosed in under 20 year olds in the USA. That's a very small number

Your right because I just brought stress and anxiety pills and it made me not as lightheaded as I was before

Please be careful with them as some can potentially be dangerous

Also being lightheaded has no connection with bowel cancer

When one symptoms goes away another comes

Almost a month ago I made a post in which a I talked about blood in my stool that only occurred once that never happened again after 3 1/2 weeks. I changed diet stool became better stomach pains are getting better and better each day some days I don’t feel them at all and my weight loss from not eating was solved from me forcing myself to eat with me gaining weight. I cut out processed food workout daily and the symptoms have slowly gone away but now I’m having lightheadedness for a week causing me to feel unbalanced like I’m going to fall but I notice when I tend to walk more I don’t feel unbalanced as much I have no tiredness, fatigue, weight loss, headaches only mild stomach pain when irritated they barely ever happen and my other symptoms have gotten better good stool.
I was diagnosed with ibs by a doctor
I know the changes of it being bowel/colon cancer is low due to the fact things have gotten significantly better and my poop was never black and stomach pains go away. I am also 17 with no family history.
It just gets to my head when all the other symptoms get progressively better one thing has to pop out of the blue my mom thinks it’s anxiety as well as my sister who is a nurse as I always think on it but how can I get over this
The lightheadedness has stayed the same
I am still able to run and excercise as I can run 1-3 miles with no problem or feeling of falling out.
I’m happy the blood in the stool stopped, I’m gaining back my weight, no serious stomach pain, better diet but the lightheadedness is making me go back into my old ways of thinking

It's the nature of anxiety. It can and will effect multiple, random parts of your body sporadically, or at the same time.

Focus on dealing with the anxiety, not each individual symptom. They will come and go.

The chances of you having colon cancer are zero.

Don't push the workout and exercise too much, long distance running in particular is stressful on the central nervous system, and brisk walking is just as effective for health, but way less taxing on your body.

It was actually less than two weeks ago GREAT JOB on changing your diet and exercising! That makes such a huge difference. There's another member here that should follow your lead!

You've been in an anxious state for a while and what you're experiencing are the after effects.

You may not feel anxious but your body is still on high alert and has a bed of hot anxiety coals inside just waiting to flare up. Just like a campfire, the hot coals of anxiety take a long time to finally go out.
    Keep up the good work!

Re: When one symptoms goes away another comes

Thanks for the advice I am honestly surprised I been able to treat my ibs in this short amount of time because the amount of stories of people having it for years, I have fixed mine in a matter of 2 1/2 weeks with minor pain here and there bit nothing serious. I am very happy like the bloody stool went away and never persisted along with other symptoms but the lightheadedness has happened all day in the morning I feel little to nothing but the more I think of it it gets worse ALL DAY then its repeat day after day. There has been times I caught myself not being lightheaded and it instantly came back. I think hard about whether I feel fatigued or lightheaded which I feel has been causing it, it been llike this for 1 1/2 weeks I know deep in my heart it isnt siister but my mind tells me otherwise besides this everything is pretty fine i went days without googling but the lightheadedness makes me feel anxious Im still positive as my other symptoms gotten better/ left
