Hypertensive Retinopathy - Eye exam showed Retinal Eye hemorrhages

So I went to the eye doctor today and during the exam the eye doctor found 3 small hemorrhages. She also said my vessels were kinky and it all suggested Hypertensive Retinopathy which can lead to strokes.
She wants me to see my regular doctor and have a full workup and then come back to her in 6 months.
Said I need to get my blood pressure under control because it suggests chronic high blood pressure.

I have severe white coat syndrom but generally at home my blood pressure is 120/80 or lower...
Not sure what to think.

But scared shitless know knowing I have these hemorrhages and everything I look up seems to spell disaster - strokes, heart failure, etc.

Anyone have experience with this? Hypertensive Retinopathy? Hemorrhages during an eye exam?

I'd advise doing what the specialist says and getting your GP to do a thorough assessment of your blood pressure to see whether you actually have high blood pressure which could be contributing to your eye problem?

She doesn't want to see you for 6 months so this doesn't sound like an urgent problem. Try not to do your own "research" by googling etc because you will always find worse case scenario diagnoses which will terrify you and which don't apply to your case.

Getting an accurate picture of your blood pressure and maybe taking some meds if it's found to be clinically high could help with your eye condition?

I think you would have gotten a reply by now. Best to see your GP concerning your BP and stay away from Dr. Google. it does sound like something that can be treated and controlled though and its even more vital to treat your anxiety too.

My blood pressure is fine, except during anxiety. I've been monitoring it and it's under 120/80 usually 115/70. had blood test everything good except slightly elevated cholesterol... waiting for GP appointment. Just wondering if anyone has experince with the eye hemorrhages or hypertensive Retinopathy

That's why I suggested treatment for that. Even something like a beta blocker to keep your heart and BP in check when you stress out. Let us know what your GP says.

Went to doctor and of course BP was high when first checked but had gone down to 138/88 by end of visit. Showed her my at home logs and she though blood pressure was perfect usually averaged 115/70. So she said no meds (no beta blocker) cause blood pressure is fine and would make it go way to low! Told me just need to relax exercise and eat a little better ( cholesterol was slightly elevated and good cholesterol was too low) and control anxiety... ok great, but what about the hemorrhages? Anyone else deal with anything like this?
