Re: Heartburn / angina after exercise

Could anxiety and stress cause permanent high blood pressure? I'm starting to think this is what's causing my dizziness / lightheadedness and headache. I've been obsessed about my heart recently and felt really awful on the weekend with a tight chest and breathlessness, which is back again right now. I don't have a means of taking my BP but not sure if I should go into a&e. I can sort of reason with the breathlessness but the dizziness is sort of new to me, so I'm pretty freaked out.

I exercise nearly every day, and eat resonably healthy, but maybe that's not enough.

...Just wanted to add as an example of how this can work, I have a tremendously tight chest this morning without any reason except for a craft fair I've been attending for years. It's not terribly comfortable but it isn't a big deal and I'm not in the least bit worried about it. Once I'm settled on the stall and I have a few quiet moments I'll probably try to do some mindful breathing to take the edge off it, but there's a very real chance I'll just relax into the event and forget all about it.

I should also add that my lifestyle isn't nearly as healthy as yours.

Thanks for the reply BI. I really hope this is anxiety, I've even been thinking of MS again due to everything I know about that. I know someone who has MS and he often has days where his head feels lightheaded and foggy and that, along with the chest tightness and breathlessness is how I've been feeling.

I had a good sleep last night, but I've been feeling terribly lightheaded this morning, and also a sense of pressure in my head. Seriously fed up and sh*t scared there's something wrong.

Even if this is 'just' anxiety, it's becoming quite debilitating now.

Hope the craft fair goes well, what sort of stuff do you do?

    It's just anxiety, I promise.

I make beaded jewellery, but this is a community awareness event and with the cloudy weather, I don't think it'll be very profitable.

You have made some progress in terms of being more aware of your HA, Mr L. You now need to speak to GP and do something about it. I really think betablockers would help you with physical symptoms.

The dizziness/lightheadedness has been terrible today, and I feel exhausted, fell asleep this afternoon in my car. Feel a weird rushing/pressure thing in my head as well at times.

Also remembered i banged my head twice last weekend on a door frame so what if all these symptoms are injury related. It could be that, or the bp, heart etc

Pretty scared right now, and cant fight this anymore.

Or it could just be that the anxiety's been eating at you so long you're running on fumes.

Maybe I need to go to A&E, not helpful, but just been reading about carotid artery dissection and artery blockages etc, and im in more of a panic now.

Either that or i go to bed and hope this is all gone by the morning.
