Nurse rang back saying the doctor was advising that the heart scan was satisfactory, but if I want to investigate the palpitations further then to arrange another appointment.

Why can't they just inform patients automatically instead of making us wait around on edge?

The echocardiogram/heart scan was fine, so all good there. Think I just need to accept that the palpitations and the occasional heart symptoms are anxiety or stress related.

However, as if on cue, my bowels have began acting up yesterday and today......

Glad you realise that you are now moving on to another sinister scenario. Remember that you did have a sigmoidoscopy recently after diagnosing yourself with bowel cancer.
