    Son’s eyelid drooping- help!

    Hi,

Last night we got back from holiday after almost a full day of travelling. My son slept in the car for an hour and he slept all last night.

i have just finished putting some clean washing away and my son walked in to the bedroom, I looked at him in horror - his left eye looks half closed like his eyelid has drooped massively. Of course HA has now decided he has a BT. I asked him what he’s done to his eye just incase it itches, well hoping it did (not red or anything) and he said he’s just been folding his eyelids inside out.

i have scoured google and can’t find anything that tells me turning your eyelids inside out can cause the eyelid to droop.

Could this sudden drooping be a combination of this and tiredness or is it more likely to be something serious?

Any help would be appreciated. He will be at the optician next week anyway but I’m panicked. If it was serious would it more likely be gradual?

Bells palsy perhaps?? Children can get it.

Either way, this is one for the doctor and not an Internet forum.

Good luck and please get him seen to

I will get him an appointment - however he has said that it felt weird when he flipped his eyelid inside out so I think he maybe damaged it slightly, hopefully it goes down within a day or two.

Just to report, eye has returned to normal now. He has an appointment with the optician next week and I shall mention it then but now there’s no doubt in my mind it was caused by him turning his eyelids.
