It may require a biopsy but she has to go back to her gp to get an appointment rather than just giving her a check while she was there, apparently no one was in the department who runs the machine when she was there..she is experiencing some pain at times but has some medication if she needs it.

This is so ridiculous, I have heard of this happening before....that some people don't have the continuity of care and have to go back to the GP for another referral. Why the breast cancer consultant can't refer for the skin biopsy I really don't know!

SO, has she had the mammo at least ?

They told her to go to the gp for an appointment, it may be a skin specialist she needs to see. I thought if you are under treatment the cancer care system followed without interruption.

So, she hasn't had the mammo either ??? That is most odd, and yes you'd have thought the consultant would have arranged that. I could understand if she'd had the mammo and it was all fine, and she then needed a skin biopsy to then needed another appointment (although that is a bit daft too, but thats how the system works).

Fortunately she has an appointment with her gp tomorrow, that we arranged as the hospital nurse told her she should have been contacted by the practice as a matter of routine with cancer care, the practice saying they wasn't aware of the situation.

Hurrah ! (I know I had a fair few myself, they fade over time but take a few years to really be gone).......and so you are both onto the next stage......

Hi carys, well the good news is she has no problems and can go on the 6 month checks which is as much as we could have hoped for at this stage. Once again thank you for your support which has been a great help to me.

Brilliant, there we go ! I told you at the start of this thread, in June,
remember that this is the worst you will be feeling right now - it gets better and it gets easier slowly slowly
and now you are moving on to the 6 monthly check-ups which is very good progress and an outcome you would have not imagined way back in June. You have been more than welcome to my thoughts Kestral.
