Anyone with Aspergers - tips for shutdowns?

Usually I hold up pretty well, stresses and too much stimulation can usually be helped by chillout out by myself.

Today it caught me unaware ! I got a bit dizzy and felt sick and panic set in. I've not had a proper panic attack for a long time. I think a lot of stress has been in the background and this dizzyness set it off.

Funny thing is. I've found a new hobby in bikes but it's been stressing me out . I looked up how to repair something but the bloody text on pages can get jumbled up and shake and zip around and I found it really difficult to understand what I was reading and viewing on YouTube and it totally stressed me more than anything and meant I cannot progress to the next part! Silly I know!

I fancied calling in sick to work tomorrow, I think I need some isolation to potter and keep my mind of stuff.

If you're a fellow aspie, how do you deal with overloads and shutdowns?

I don't. Others have to deal with it for me.

That's certainly the case in my house with my (adult) 2! Talking them down and talking things through takes time and patience. Peace and quiet with no sensory overload is essential.

It's not easy being an aspie and facing life's challenges with no "rule book".
