I'll post a better response later but thought others might want to note this if it's been missed. Give it was a switch from Sertraline there may still be issues on here with James being a longer term user which I expect Ian will be able to explain to us (and maybe others). One question though is you did say they were helping you James and this was before the increase so what changed other than you forgetting a dose and coming off them? Have they given up on the anti psychotic med route now?
    Hey Terry,

I've given up on all medications mate. The benzos, and the ven. I thought the ven. was helping but then I ran out for 3 days and found I was no worse, or better, without the ven. The diazepam on the other hand has helped a lot but as you know they're not long term I decided to quit them now as opposed to transitioning onto anti psychotics. I've done a cold turkey benzo withdrawal after 6 months usage (doctors fault). Withdrawal from ven, and even sertraline, is nothing in comparison.

I'm James 2.0. The new and improved stronger James. Fresh off the line

My partner was so sick of my agitation she managed to find a strip of ven. Just took one. The side effects were getting raw. This afternoon sat shivering, vomiting and feeling overall awful. Brain zaps turned into some next level dizziness where I couldn't walk.

Ah well. I lasted till day 5. Back to James 1.0. The James 2.0 left the factory with an error so it's back to getting fixed

But I don't know what's going to happen with my doctor. I called up at 3pm and swore all sorts of obscenities down the phone at the receptionist. Probably going to get booted off now.

I see a lot of black and white thinking along with idealising and then devaluing situations, James. This is something I feel you need to address with therapy. Having said that, I don't think you've received the help you need which is sad but certainly not uncommon unfortunately.

Getting the therapy we need is a battle for many of us here and is something you should still pursue - with or without meds.

You're probably right KK77. As you can tell I don't even know where my head is at. Even when I think I'm doing good I'm not. At times it's like being locked in a cage screaming to get out but nobody is listening. But make no mistake about this ... I've had enough of this mental health malarky. You know when you have days where it's like "Today I'm quitting x" (be it fags, booze w/e) and you actually follow through because you've had enough ... thats me with mental health right now. I want out and fast.

You're right it's not uncommon. If I can just get to the point where I can work again I can pay for therapy etc. My partner wants the old James back, so does my son, so do I. Poor finances make things a whole lot worse. I feel like a bum on ESA.

These are the times I wish I had a friend. To spend time with. To forget about my problems. To enjoy the company of somebody who is similar to me. I've been telling myself for 2 years to make it to the chess club up the road. Still not made it. If anybody plays on Lichess I'm down for a game

Be careful, Wired. Ven is a beast to play around with especially if you have ASD. My daughter had to withdraw quickly and it was awful. You could well find that "less is more" and you are better on a lower dose.

Is your neighbour a possibility for a chat?

I'm back on them now. And yes actually he came around to say hi and I was lay on my bed struggling to stay awake and he was having a chat to me. After that I perked up a lot. This was a different neighbor, a lad thats a bit younger than I am but he's a good person to chat to and he understands my issues. His girlfriend has the same problems as me too.
