Smear test results

Hi

I had a smear test 9days ago so I called my doctors to see if they were back (long shot) and the receptionist said that they were back but she couldn't tell me anything as the doctor hadn't seen them yet?

This is majorly freaking me out as I have had 2 times of a little bleeding after sex and constant pelvic pains over the last 3 weeks!!!

I am so worried! Has anyone else had this with the doctors? Or these symptoms and it not been anything to worry about?

it litterally just means as she said that the dr hasn't looked at the results yet...so she couldn't tell you the results as she isn't qualified to do so

Thanks for the reply, I have only asked because they have told me results before and also as it has come back very quick

They can normally give results when the dr has looked at them.... a receptionist is not qualified to interpret the results but is able to give you the results after a dr has interpreted them...... but if he hasn't seen them yet then he can't have interpreted them.... so therefore the receptionist can't give them to you.
