Why don't you give these people a call and speak to a breast cancer nurse - 0808 800 6000.
They are the Breast Cancer Now charity - and you don't need to have BC to talk to them.

It is so hard. I went to my GP today as I can't kick a cough I've had for a while. Threw in the "by the way - I do have terrible Health anxiety too so not sure if it's linked" and got sent away with a load of "calming" websites to check out. I was hoping for some meds to be honest!

Thanks for the nhmber. I may give them a call if the anxiety starts getting really bad again. At the moment it’s at bay to a certain extent and I’m keeping busy.

I can see my husbands face as soon as i say I have health anxiety. I think he wants to shake me as he knows they will be dismissive of me. I hope your cough clears up soon. They can normally tell an infection from listening with the stethoscope. All over cracking normally means viral and in one confined area normally means bacterial. Coughs can linger so long and that doesn’t help us with health anxiety one little bit! X

    Hi Unicorn,
Thought I’d check up on ya! How is your pain now? Fortunately I can’t feel mine on a regular basis however if I press at an angle the pain comes back :( So strange but I’m just dealing with it for now

    Hi katniss

im managing to go several days with out poking now but when I do it’s still there most of the time. It’s not more painful though so I’m trying to keep calm about it. In true heslth anxiety style I’ve now kind of moved on to worrying about vulva cancer after finding a lump in my vulva. Again trying to remain calm but I’m really worried. Just praying it’s a blocked gland or something. It doesn’t hurt. I really hate health anxiety.

im glad yours seems to be getting better xx

How are you doing Nicole? My pain is still there but I rarely poke it now so don’t know how frequent it is. My chest is so sore at the moment, feels like I’ve been punched on the cartilidge and breast muscle. My armpit is sore and the side of my breast sort of in between where the breast comes out and the armpit is so sore. I’m trying not to freak out but I’m struggling. I don’t know why it’s so sore. I haven’t injured it or over exerted myself. The costochondritis seemed to get much better but now it’s all so sore again. This armpit pain/ache is really worrying me. Period just finished so not cycle related. It’s my daughters birthday on Monday, my daughter that died and I’ve really been struggling this month. Trying so hard to keep busy! X

Hey Unicorn - sorry for late reply, didn't see your post. My breast pain comes and goes - not there so much when I poke it, more the odd shooting pain. Like you, I try to ignore it and since it's been going on since March and comes and goes ....I'm going to assume it's nothing sinister. The chest pain also comes and goes, sort of on my sternum and even on my clavicle at times. And then as you say - the odd pain in my arm pit. I'm sure someone without HA would get the same but wouldn't even notice it. We are hyper-focusing so notice it all.
What a sad time for you with your daughter's birthday coming up. Christmas (and bloody New Year) can be so hard for anyone who's lost a loved one - but this must be horrendous when it's a child and you have the birthday as well. Be kind to yourself, take time to remember her. I hope you have lots of family support and can find some joy over the Christmas period...xx

Sorry to hear you’re still having issues. I’ve just applied pressure from the top side of my breast by armpit along to the sternum and it all hurts along there. So must be from the costochondritis? I just keep panicking it’s actually a tumour causing this discomfort but I have to remember it’s gotten better and then worse so it’s highly unlikely. I’m very tense at the moment and I just can’t relax. I keep getting boils or cyst type things on my inner thighs. Perhaps I’m run down from the anxiety and stress of everything,

i hope Xmas is a gentle time for you. I have a good support network thankfully but here if you ever want to talk xx

Hi! I'm sorry if this is belated-- what helps me in instances of panic such as this is something my mom told me a while ago.... "pain is a good sign". She is a Advanced Practice Nurse Pratictioner in the ICU and has been for over 30 years.... she knows her stuff. When I complain of boob pain or pain anywhere, she says that it's a good sign... anything malicious usually presents itself as an asymptomatic lump ( I think, I'm not medical). Typically breast pain could be hormones or honestly anything... I'm a klutz and run into things constantly.

I totally understand your anxiety and I have those feelings a lot myself. Wishing you peace soon

Re: Breast pain in one breast

Has anyone else had this really intense but short burning sensation (or a feeling of heat) in just one breast? They’re like bursts that last for a few seconds and don’t happen every day, not even every week, but I’m getting really worried. I only have the sensation in my left breast/armpit, although I do occasionally feel something similar but much less intense on the right side as well.
It started a couple of months ago when my daughter was sick and insisted on being carried everywhere by me (and she’s really heavy), and now she’s sick again and the sensation’s coming on more often now that I have to carry her constantly. I booked a doctor’s appointment for Friday but I’m really scared.

Yep I’m having that too, think it’s from my costochondritis as I was also getting stabbing pains in my breast from that, but breast cancer specialist said it’s referred pain. I’m finding I’m getting s lot of pain at the top of my underwire on some side,

hope your daughter is better soon x

Thanks, I hope so too! Saw the doctor and she said there seems to be an issue with the muscles between my ribs, most likely caused by carrying a heavy toddler too much, haha. It’s also possible that one of my ribs on that side is cracked (my daughter likes to jump up and down on my ribcage), but she thought the sensations are most likely caused by cramped muscles.
