Black under hard skin

Hi all got myself in a pickle. I have hard skin on my little toe and i have noticed that it looks black underneath the skin. Just wondered if this is common on feet? Has anyone else had this? Of course my mind has jumped to melanoma as it cant ever just be something simple.

I had a brown area under a callous.
I convinced myself it was a melanoma until it dried up and fell off. I think it is common to get black marks under a callous, it is just blood.
