Re: Reaching out - vaginal cancers

I’m 34 and I’ve had 3 kids. I sometimes have stress incontinence. It’s not constant but I have recently been panicking about vulva cancer. I’m constantly having stress incontinence at the moment and always leaking tiny bits of urine. My counsellor strongly believes it’s because I’m stressing about vaginal cancers so much that it’s making it happen more. I csnt scientifically prove it but I think there is something to it. When we focus on an area of pain and any symptoms with health anxiety our brains make the problems worse. I was convinced I had throat cancer at one point, it felt like I had someone’s hands around my neck constantly. When I calmed down and moved on to another problem, that completely went away. The more you focus the more stressed you will become x

I know but I think with my period 3 days earlier last month and now this I'm terrified it's a vaginal cancer. Is it normal to have a patch of discharge every day in your undies? It's been like this just over a week, some times it's loads but I was ovulating then, not now.

I just keep thinking I have ovarian or cervical cancer and getting so stressed. Doctors haven't seen concerned her. But took swabs when I last went. I keep reading ovarian cancer stories.

I can't remember the last time I didn't have discharge in my underwear. It's my normal, and I think it is for a lot of people.

I second this, I don’t think there’s been a day since I went through puberty.

I had my smear last year about a week before my period and she said “I can see lots of discharge around your cervix but you’ve told me your period is due with in the next week and it’s clear so it’s of no concern!”

offensive smelling discharge and funny coloured dischsrge is of concern and even then its normally an infection and rarely cancer. You are fine I’m sure of it. X

I rang to chase my swab results that the doctor did for peace of mind and the receptionist said they'd been lost or unusable. Now I'm scared they're unusable because it's 'C' booked in for another swab.

    sample; rejected

What if it was rejected because it picked up cancer cells?

Then they would tell you that not reject the sample, they are rejected when not enough cells are there to test or the sample is in other ways unusable (like the container broke and it dried out etc)
