Hi all, I am panicking right now and need someone to calm me down. I am a 49 year old woman and am officially post menopausal starting this month (no periods for 1 whole year). Two weeks ago I went to the ER with acute abdominal pains and a CT was done - 3 cm left ovarian cyst. Evidently, the cyst is still there but evidently it ruptured within itself. ER staff didn't seem to concerned and sent me off. Went to the GYN doctor a few days later and she didn't seem worried either. Went to get my physical, and that doctor didn't seem worried as well but completely agreed to give me an US for piece of mind. I kept on asking all these doctors that since I am post menopausal, should there not be more of a concern? Once again, nobody seemed worried. I thought post menopausal women didn't get cysts anymore?? So my US is Friday and needless to say I am sick with worry. Just wondering if there are any post menopausal women on this forum with similar stories or with cysts as well post menopause.
Thanks!
