    IBC Panic

Almost 2 weeks ago, I noticed a small red spot on my breast. I didn’t think much of it until my health anxiety kicked in this week. It was diagnosed as eczema and has improved. Of course, now I’ve read about IBC and im
convinced I have it. My breast itches, but only when wearing a bra, I swear it feels heavier than normal, but my period just started today. Any advice or help?

I understand exactly why you feel this way, health anxiety is just horrible. I’ve been obsessed with breast cancer for over ten months and went to a breast specialist because of stabbing pains. He was very confident. At the time I had a really painful spot on my breast that was huge. Directly next to my nipple. I normally get small ones but never had one as big as this one. He instantly just said “just a spot” google told me it was ibc and it was the breast I was getting stabbing pains in, completely unrelated. I promise it wouldn’t get better if it was ibc. Ibc is almost a bit like a skin cancer. It wouldn’t respond to eczema cream at all. That’s why so many women get told eczema and it just gets worse and worse until it’s finally diagnosed. Because the creams don’t work at all.

I know the anxiety always wins but I don’t believe you would of seen improvement if it was ibc. It normally covers 1/3 of the breast typically but now you have this worry you’ll notice every little thing. Every little pain, spot, skin that looks different. X
