Theres clearly something serious going on as theyve done some bloods and cant determine whats wrong.

Theyre also talking to specialists at Birmingham Childrens Hospital.

How scary for you all, I hope she’s ok and she’s clearly in the best place.

They are trying to find what is wrong with her so that they can help treat her.

Try not to Google too much, you can’t unsee it and it won’t help anyone. Play a game on your phone if you have to.

No, vitamin k is usually used for certain things and not liver disease. Yes, thats on the list but vitamin k is about coagulation or absorption of calcium. I think this is where you are focussing on something specific without the full picture the doctors have. You will only start finding various nasties on Google if you aren't careful.

Quite simply the doctors can explain why they are administering vitamin k. There are several forms of it. And interestingly one is used to treat a side effect of antibiotic use which cause the healthy bacteria to be killed off in the body.

It may have no connection at all but I'm saying this to give you possibilities that aren't liver disease, transplants, etc.

Healthy bacteria being attacked in some way can lead to a build up of unhealthy bacteria. That's one reason we get thrush. Now she hasn't wanted food and healthy bacteria goes all the way from the mouth to the anus (and beyond to the vagina in women). If your diet is poor you influence this bacteria. It has symptom links to all sorts of things, many you will have felt with your mental health, that include depression, fatigue, dietary changes, the runs (especially if you eat things your body is now less accustomed to...and high fibre can give you the runs), etc.

This is why you need to stay away from self diagnosis and press the doctors. You aren't seeing test results and making guesses at the worst. How do you know this won't just be an infection that has been allowed to get out of hand and some time being fed through a drip with meds won't sort it?

Sending positive vibes in your daughter's direction, Mr. L.

Please stop catastrophising, though; as others have said, it could well be something very treatable.

This is what happens when tests are inconclusive. The local hospital consults with a specialist children's hospital to pick their brains.

I hope you manage to get a first hand account today of how things actually are with your little girl and please try very hard to stay away from health sites which will confuse and terrify you?

You have enough to deal with as it is and she needs her dad to be focusing on her and the treatment which her doctors are carrying out on her. You've also got your other little girl at home who needs you too because it's really scary for her.

We’re still none the wiser as to whats going on.

Docs have come round to say she will need to have lots of blood tests over the next few days to monitor whats happening. And depending on her condition, possibly transferring her to Birmingham Hospital for them to see her.

Obviously something very bad is going if they cant determine a cause yet. Something simple would be sorted by now. My poor little girl. How is this happening to her......this is just a nightmare. We’re all in pieces.

It must be horrifically scary, but try not to jump to worse case scenarios. Trust the doctors and keep being positive for your family.

    We're all really struggling.

The hospital still haven't heard back from a lot of tests they've sent away. Her liver tests are still off but stable for now.

The more I look on google the more it looks bleak, things like autoimmune hepatitis, which is chronic and life long. I know I shouldn't but it's hard when we're waiting and nothing is being done while she's still very ill.

Can't believe this is happening to my sweet little girl.

Please don't google? Please wait for her test results which are specific to her? Please don't speculate based on stuff you are reading online?

"The more I look on google the more it looks bleak"..This condition has come on very quickly it seems. She's stable now and being monitored until the bloods come back. Has she had the scan yet?
