Hi all,

Thought it worth raising a thread to commemorate the courage or men & women in our country and many others who risked their lives or endured what the war brought them. As time goes by less & less of them are still alive and their children are now elderly but much is put into remembering their sacrifices in giving us the way of life we have now which we take for granted daily.

This is not about the politics, it's about the people who risked all to protect us. Not just the military men & women but those who worked to keep us going and maintained society for those to come back to. So few of us in peacetime understand what it is like to be hiding from bombings or being shipped off to work in fields and to go without as today so many of us have so much more and security in our society.
I had an uncle who fought in the Royal Marines, a granddad who served in both wars in the Navy and my parents were war children who still remember the raids.

Lets hope we never have to see what they saw.

Lest we forget.
