So you stopped taking sertraline 3 weeks ago and began taking it again in the last few days? How much sertraline were you taking, did you wean off, or quit cold-turkey, and how much are you taking now and why did you start taking it again?

This was last year Dr took me off sertraline cold turkey waited a week then went on mirtazapine but felt no better so quit ct after 3 weeks.... 3 months went by then I was getting worse. So Dr put me back on sertraline again then it's been down hill since

Do you know why the GP took you off it? How long had you been taking it before then and at what dose?

I'm off everything now apart from diazepam when needed. I was on 50mg for 2 years. I told the Dr i felt emotionally numb so he took me off it cold turkey and put on mirtazapine 15mg which I stopped after 3 weeks then went back on sertraline 50mg again after 3 months. Which is bad apparently I've read not supposed to reinstate after 3 weeks

Cutting back to 25mg for a week, or two would have been kinder.

Where did you read this? There is no reason I'm aware of why you can't go back onto a med after a longer break. However, as with discontinuing, a week or two at 25mg would have been better. Plus, given the emotional blunting was an consideration given to taking another SSRI?
