Have been struggling with anxiety over Hantavirus since I found out there was a mouse in my desk last Friday. We found it ate some food and obviously escaped. I did not see any droppings, urine or saliva but prior to noticiing the snacks had been tampered with, I did use a toothbrush that I had in a dentist bag in that drawer. After I realized that after seeing evidence of chew marks I have been admittedly so scared and getting a resurgence of HA over this. I had severe HA earlier this year that got so bad, I was convinced I had MS and had to go to therapy several times a week.
Just looking for some reassurance here. I know it is a rare disease but I am in coastal Southern CA (some have been found in Southern CA) but it would have also had to been that exact rodent and it would have also had to been carrying the disease. Anyone can ease my fears please?
