    Nausea

    Hello,
I have been suffering from nausea for a while now.
I have suffered anxiety for over 20 years.
I was on sertaline off and on.
A few months back I had palpations and went to the doctors who did a ecg and some blood tests.
They nurse said if they didint get back to me it was ok.
    They didint.
All was well but For the past few weeks I have really bad nausea with dry heaving, can’t relax can’t really do anything. No appetite . I have a fear of being sick and I am really ashamed of it.
Is this anxiety showing it’s ugly face again?Does anyone else suffer from this. Nausea thing. Thanks

Don’t be ashamed of your fear! I’m emetophobic too, it’s no different to any other fear and just as valid.

Nausea is one of the main things I get from anxiety, a lot of people do actually, it’s very common. Often fear or nerves make even the most ‘normal’ of person feel queasy.

The problem isn’t the nausea itself it’s our reaction to it, we train our brains that it’s something to be reactive too, therefore making it much worse. I’m terrified of being sick, but in turn I can identify what’s anxiety nausea and what isn’t, my doctor also gives me antiemetics to have just in case I feel really bad, it gives me a lot more confidence. That being said I’ve never been sick due to anxiety, just felt it.

    Re: Nausea

I have had this for just under a week. The nausea is pretty much through most of the day until the evening. I am guessing it is anxiety rather than a health problem so I am working on trying to tell myself all is ok despite the horrible sensation. Easier said than done but I’ll keep trying and let you know how I get on. Let me know how you all are too x
