Moles in private part

Hi all
Sorry for the details.
My hemorrhoid has been itchy so I was stupid enough to check. Then I saw a big mole within that area And a black spot on one of the piles. I got panic and luckily was able to see my GP the next day (this morning).

She checked that area and pointed out that I have a few more moles but all look normal. No need for dermatologist. She also checked the hemorrhoids and prescribed cream since it’s itchy. I feel the exam is careful.

Anyway I shall feel relieved right? But I am not. I forgot to ask her about the black spot on one of hemorrhoids during the exam. She is a careful doctor that I’ve been with for years. I would assume that if she saw anything wrong, she Would have told me. She even pointed out the other moles I have in the vulva area To compare with the one near the hemorrhoids, which I didn’t even ask her.

I feel awkward if I email her about the hemorrhoid spot Now after the exam. Maybe I shall make a dermatologist checkup appointment and get 2nd opinion? My anxiety is still glaring even after seeing my GP.

Don’t know what to do.

The dark spot on the hemorrhoid will be part of the vein where the blood had pooled so it's very dark (old blood), this is very common and very normal.

If you have a lot of moles, its a good idea to get them checked out by a specialist as they've seen it all. I also have freckles (and couple of moles in interesting places), It's due to my Celtic heritage !! You are within your rights to ask your Dr for a referral. Good luck with it.

Thanks. Will the dark spot be round if it’s just blood? I look at it again and it’s look like a black round mole on a hemorrhoid? That doesn’t sound right. I will try to find a dermatologist appt next week. I had a skin check last year but that dermatologist didn’t check this area.

I have 2 young kids and my mind has been racing with fears of leaving them :( sometimes I wish I didn’t look and just go on with life

I have some updates. so the mole that she removed, it came back as benign although atypical.

Now I asked her if she could remove the mole on the hemorrhoid, but she refers me to colorectal clinic. she said she would monitor it instead of removing it but referring me anyway because I asked.

Colonrectal clinic then refers me to GI Onco because it might involve hemorrhoid surgery if I chose to. Now you know the panic set in when I see the word "Onco". I asked her do you suspect the big word C or what? she said no. I'm still in panic. I've also read that hemorrhoid surgery is a big surgery and it would hurt like hell.

So I'm in a hard situation. Trusting the doctors and monitor the mole on it which is so hard to do, on top of my anxiety. Or go with my guts and remove it together with the hemorrhoid for my peace of mind and eliminate the checking. however, the surgery would be risky and painful :(

I feel like if I didn't discover these moles, my life would have been simpler.

Personally, I would have the surgery and have it removed. This means no more dealing with it

My husband had this surgery, whilst it was uncomfortable the pain was manageable and they provide pain relief to stay on top of it. My recommendation from his recovery is take the meds.

thanks Lauz for your input. so with pain medication, it won't be that horrible right ? I had my c-section in Jan of last year and recovery wasn't that bad because I was on top of pain medicine for 1 month. I wonder if hemorrhoid surgery would be as bad?

I am also leaning toward surgery. I can also take care of the hemorrhoid at the same time and get the mole tested just in case. that would remove my constant worry about this for life.

If you have had a c section I think this type of surgery / pain would be a walk in the park haha

But on a serious note, pain relief is there for a reason and as long as you stay on top of it then it should be manageable.

And you are right, you can deal with both thing that are worrying you in one. It means no more thinking and what if’s - seems like a no brainer to me to put your mental health at bay!

I’m 15min away from the GI appt to check this mole with the hemorrhoid. I’m getting scared because the office is GI oncology :( But the dermatologist and the GP have said they don’t suspect anything bad. I just hope I’ll be ok
