I entirely support the words written by Nancy above. It was exactly that thought process (which actually came from myself internally, rather than someone saying it externally) that 'cured' me of health anxiety some 25 years ago. If you adopt that as a mantra, it works, and I've seen it work for others on here too. Focusing on others, voluntary work, accepting that one day you are going to die, worked for me.

So sorry to hear about your friend Nancy.

I'm at the convinced stage of the cycle. It's a little nobby stick out but just above the soft part of your neck that dents in. It rises up when you swallow. If I stretch neck and swallow there are 3 stick out bits that move up and down. Is this normal anatomy?

Clearly not given that this was Helenhoo's next sentence...

helen, you've heard of the story of "the boy who cried wolf"?

you'll get obsessed once too many times and then won't get the help IF something serious does really happen in your body, cause everyone will think you are "crying wolf".

For those who don't know the story, the short version is a shepherds boy keeps telling everyone every day "there's a wolf" when there isn't and keeps asking for help about getting rid of the wolf, then a wolf really does come to eat the sheep and the shepherds boy asks for help to get rid of the wolf and nobody believes him and all the sheep get eaten by the wolf.

    Re: My Current Numerous Worries

I'm spiralling - my ex has a black mark on his fingernail which he's brushed off as sharpie, said he uses it daily at work. He wouldn't let me get a look at it, he knows my anxieties. I have had on off boob ache last two days, I am in ovulation stage and csnt feel any obvious lumps. Also worried about the throat lump which I think some girls also have more prominent. Also, have a spot on an already raised mole and to make things more stressful. I just took a hot bath to calm down and saw a tiny pin promo scab I picked off and worry that may have been melanoma.
